JO's Rochester Yatch Club

I am Sorry I did not report last night.  I'm not really a blogger!  We all had a long day and then a busy evening trying to identify where and whose was what, get the laundry done, have dinner, get in a few more jumps on the trampoline, and then bed.  (Tell Will I missed him!)  The kids all did very well at JO's.  That race is a very different experience from other Opti events.  There was a total of 44 kids in the champion fleet.  Many of the kids are new sailors and this was their first race ever.  In addition, there are a few Very Difficult Opti Sailor Parents (and kids) involved with that Yacht Club.  I can tell you it seems to be the same every year!  On top of that, there was light wind Saturday and nearly no wind Sunday (only one race).   I think the most important part of the time the team spent here was the training they got from Roberto.  The race was just an opportunity to practice some of what they learned.  Dan and I were able to go out and watch the races.  I can only speak for my own child but I am sure it is the same for all the kids, it was very clear how much Jessica has learned.  She has learned so much more than we excepted.  I am certain this is the same for all the kids as they all sailed very well.  Sincerely, Thank You So Much Roberto for all the help you have given to Jessica and all the kids.  Wow!  I am sure all of the other parents feel the same.

We loved having the team at our house.  I hope everything went well and that everyone was happy.
Our house is not large, the time we spent in the house was tight, and the place was always a little messy.  However, we laughed a lot, the kids seemed to have a great time playing on our dock, and they got in some good sailing practice.

Results : I am not certain on every detail, and the results may never be posted on line, so please ask your child.

  1. Lorrie and Dan, thanks so much for going "above and beyond." Hope you're enjoying some well deserved peace and quiet without the chaos. Declan had a wonderful time at your place and I agree, the time spent practicing was terrific! His improvement was quite exciting to see, thanks to Roberto, and the support of all the other kids.

Hope the journey to Kingston was uneventful. Looking forward to more updates!
